Commercial Fires in Tarpon and Professional Restoration

2/18/2022 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Tarpon (727) 934-5555 is ready to respond to your commercial property damage.

What causes the most expensive damage in a fire isn't usually the flames. Hotels and other commercial structures now have fire suppression systems in place in compliance with state and federal law.

Fire Damage to Tarpon hotels and other buildings usually comes from soot, smoke, and water. It's hard to clean and, in the case of water, sometimes difficult to see the hidden damage.

Trained Technicians

SERVPRO of Tarpon technicians are trained to find all three and then provide a complete report to speed along the clean-up and restoration process.

Because of a large number of rooms and extended hallways, a hotel requires that the process begins the moment the fire department has cleared people to return to the building.

The number of towels and shower curtains alone that must be cleaned can be in the hundreds or even thousands. Even if there is no soot damage, the smell of smoke quickly gets into everything with fabric. The same applies for curtains and furniture along with mattresses and box springs. All of these items can be removed and cleaned by our technicians using commercial washers and dryers, vacuums and cleaning agents exclusive to our inventory. Inside the hotel, all crawlspaces and voids must be checked for soot, smoke, and moisture.

Particles left from soot & smoke can be vacuumed if dry or cleaned and then vacuumed if it is still wet. If there is moisture trapped within, our teams will use a series of dehumidifiers and exhaust fans to remove it, returning the moisture levels to normal. Where smoke and soot damage can be seen, every surface will be cleaned and vacuumed. Ceiling tiles will have to be replaced; even if they can be cleaned, it is usually cheaper to replace them unless the material is particularly expensive.

We use commercial extractors to remove water from carpets. If the areas directly under the sprinklers were heavily soaked, our technicians would use heaters that are designed to dry out the last of the water without damaging the fibers. Finally, the HVAC system will need to be cleaned. First, we'll use the same exhaust fans and dehumidifiers to dry out and remove loose soot and other soil. Then, we use vacuum hoses with HEPA filters to ensure that every particle that can be removed is taken out. Fire damage can be overwhelming at first and can be expensive.

The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) certifies and sets the standards for the cleaning and restoration industries.

SERVPRO of Tarpon trained IICRC certified technicians work with our community hotel owners and their insurance companies to ensure everything is done as quickly as possible, allowing you to begin making your current customers comfortable and booking guests again. Call us at (727) 934-5555 today to begin the process.
